Track Estimator
Company offers multi-disciplinary construction services in the areas of right-of-way maintenance and capital construction projects, and construction/maintenance services for track, traction power and train control, and communication disciplines.
Due to continued expansion, we are now looking for a self-motivated enthusiastic individual for the position of Track Estimator, to be based at our office in El Monte, California.
Reporting to the Chief Track Estimator, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience of estimating within the transit / railroad environment, with a thorough working knowledge of permanent way and associated civil engineering.
The position requires that candidates possess an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering (or similar qualification), together with excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills. A clear understanding of the market in which the Company operates, including an awareness of competitors and new initiatives is also essential.
Duties will include (but not be limited to) ;
• Attendance at pre-bid meetings and site inspections
• Review of bid documentation
• Notification of bids received to senior management
• Preparation of cost estimates and technical proposals
• Preparation, submission and evaluation of required supplier & subcontractor enquiries
• Identification of project risks and opportunities
• Presentation of bid proposals to senior management to secure appropriate corporate approval prior to bid submission
• Provision of appropriate estimating support to our regional and area offices
