Basic Grade Radiographer (Ireland)
 

BJUSBM/COL/230908/01 -- Company Info: This is a fantastic opportunity for a General Radiographer to create a great work/life balance and work from 10am - 3pm each day. The successful candidate will be seeing walk-in GP patients and this position is available for an immediate start.

Responsibilities:
• Undertake all normal clinical work.
• Continually aim to achieve a high technical and professional standard of work.
• Undertake to be trained to the standard required and accept advice and instruction when necessary.
• Work as a team member with all members of the department ensuring an efficient service to all users and patients.
• Take charge of clinical areas when no more senior radiographer is available.
• Ensure the good welfare of patients, maintaining good patient care and understanding.
• Maintain the good order and cleanliness of equipment and accessories used and report all incidents considered unsafe.
• To abide by all national legislation and local rules in relation to Health and Safety and Radiation Protection.
• Participate in the appraisal system.
• Prioritise workload depending on the severity of a patient condition and the direct impact on their management.
• Maintain accurate patient records to reflect the service provided and meet professional standards.
• Recognise the signs of adverse reaction to contrast media, including anaphylactic shock, and be able to give appropriate first aid
• Participate in mandatory training and actively pursue Continuous Professional Development keeping an up to date personal record.
• Maintain knowledge of technological and technical advances in methods of diagnostic Imaging in order to promote a culture of continuous improvement within the department.


Requirements:

• B.Sc. in Radiography or equivalent.
• Validation with the Department of Health and Children if studies were completed outside of Ireland.
• Ideally some amount of post graduate experience of working as a radiographer
• Knowledge and ability to carry out all basic radiographic procedures.
