BJUSMB/SD 0611248 -- This hospital are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist be responsible for a physiotherapy service to manage Women's Health problems for in patients and out patients. The Physiotherapist will become an active member of the multidisciplinary support team providing assessments and interventions to the service users across the service This will include patients visiting the Well Woman Clinic and the Cromwell Breast Centre.This hospital aim to provide the finest health care services to their patients both through the use of state-of-the-art technology and innovation as well as offering the highest patient care.
Responsibilities:
• To establish, undertake and be responsible for a physiotherapy service to manage Women’s Health problems for in patients and out patients. This will include patients visiting the Well Woman Clinic. This may also include male post surgical patients and continence patients.
• To undertake and be responsible for the physiotherapy management of oncology patients, and to maintain, on a daily basis, records of management of the above patients according to the guidelines as laid down by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
• To report and consult on a regular basis with appropriate senior specialist staff with regard to your caseload and treatment techniques.
• To work closely with the McMillan Breast Care Nurse and others to ensure effective management of Breast Centre patients, including postoperative reconstruction care.
• To attend multi-disciplinary Breast Care meetings.
• To attend multi-disciplinary meetings involving the oncology patients.
• To provide a record of statistical and financial details, as required by the Therapy Manager, of the above service.
• To discuss treatment programmes and clinical responsibilities, on a regular basis, with the appropriate Senior I Physiotherapists and/or the Therapy Manager.
• To provide colleagues with assistance in other areas of the hospital as appropriate.
• To liaise with relevant team members regarding your patients on a regular basis to ensure effective communication.
• To provide a flexible service in order to respond to the requirements of patients, as required by the Therapy Manager.
• To attend meetings as needed regarding your patient’s needs, condition and treatment and progress.
• To accurately record all information related to each patient and your professional intervention.
• To promote patient dignity, privacy and safety at all times.
• To maintain patient confidentiality at all times including secure storage of patient records.
• To be aware of indications and contra-indications regarding patient diagnosis and treatment modalities used.
• To provide timely discharge and transfer reports for referrers.
• To participate in after hours and weekend on-call rotas.
• To undertake relevant clinical tasks that may be delegated which are appropriate to your level of experience and expertise.
Requirements:
• Obtained a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Physiotherapy
• Be a member of or be eligible for membership of the British Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
• Ideally have at 3 years relevant post qualification experience and advantage to have experience in women’s health.
• Excellent communication skills
