Senior Consultant - Learning Services

Over the past year, the company recently created a new service line - Learning Services. This will expand their service mix to achieve a closer business relationship with key clients, and drive the company’s growth and profitability. Learning Services is a single point of contact providing strategy, content, technology and administration for their clients' learning needs. The company will cater to the learning needs arising out of situations like merger/divestiture, change management (process, strategy change), sales effectiveness lagging behind product strategy, process changes and workforce globalization. Learning Services will work with the client to embrace the culture of knowledge sharing and collaborative learning. The company has the credentials required to position themselves as a leader in the learning industry using innovative learning mechanisms integrated with performance management, as well as recognition as a proven and successful knowledge enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Consultant contributes in strategizing, setting direction, monitoring, developing and delivering Instructional Design solutions through Instructional Design teams as per customer requirements. Responsibilities include:

• Strategize and plan for improving the Instructional Design activities.
• Provide strategic direction in design concepts for complex projects.
• Identify new approaches to Instructional Design and provide inputs in terms of teaching strategies and theory.
• Identify areas of expansion, specialization and ensures that the team delivers cutting edge Instructional Design solutions, including suggestions and influencing the client to adopt the appropriate methodology, media, tools and delivery of a Learning solution.
• Handle all aspects of providing direction, planning, training, handling critical issues and mentoring to monitoring the instructional design teams.
• Set overall quality objectives for Instructional Design in terms of effective design concepts, visual design, engaging content, assessment techniques and implementation.
• Guide the efforts of Instructional Designers and Senior Instructional Designers in projects, he/she involves in recruiting, planning, training, handling critical issues, reviews, methodology implementation and delivery as per business plan.
• Acquire knowledge on new tools, design trends, methodologies and technologies.
• Responsible for improving the competency of his/her team. He/she will be the owner of approach and methodology documents and provide guidance to the Senior Instructional Designer in preparing the same. He/she will provide specific expert advice across projects.
• Interface with clients, collaborates with experts and other teams. He/she helps in creating artifacts and communication material that will help influence clients to make right Learning development decisions.
• Responsible for continuously improving the existing processes and practices, including interacting with various teams within the client organization. The jobholder constantly interacts with all groups in identifying training requirements and challenges and proactively works with all stakeholders in providing solutions to address these challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 8-10 years of experience
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant consulting experience is required
• Knowledge of different instructional design methods and interactivity models
• Experience handling/managing a team of designers
• Advanced knowledge and a thorough understanding of the learning environment and customer needs to develop a courseware
• Ability to interface with other streams related to Learning and bring the knowledge to bear on design projects
• Contribute to the creation of an environment that facilitates high performance and motivates individuals to work collaboratively as a team and mentor and guide the team to deliver the project
• Global delivery model, onsite/offshore experience preferred
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and creative abilities
• Process improvement skills and ability to innovate, including measuring and improving the learning effectiveness of courses.
• Ability to review and manage the delivery of the projects on time.
• Ability to interact with clients and explain the concept behind the story board and the instructional design techniques used.
• Ability to learn new tools and technology to come out with innovative and easy to learn course ware designs.
