POSITION TITLE: Recruiter
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Recruitment & Publicity Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinates and executes recruitment and outreach activities for NLEI’s educational and employment programs/operations to meet contractual, and agency performance goals.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Adheres to the mission of NLEI.
2. Creates and develops recruitment activities and community outreach for the educational and employment programs of NLEI.
3 Contacts, develops, and maintains relationships with employers, businesses, and representatives of human resources for job placement services.
4 Assists with interviewing of clients. Coordinates testing and application procedures with Admissions and Employment Staff. Creates activities relating to participant referrals.
5. Provides applicants information on programs, including tuition and other criteria per funder and agency requirements.
6. Establishes and maintains linkages with other employers, service providers, and support sources. Secures linkage agreements with such resources.
7. Represents NLEI at career, training, community, health and informational fairs. Tracks and documents all leads and prospective clients.
8. Develops linkages with universities, high schools, and other post-secondary and educational institutions for referrals.
9. Develops linkages with community-based organizations, social service entities, and government institutions, parent organizations, and other organizations that would refer potential clients and benefit from NLEI’s programs.
10. Facilitates on-site recruiting and outreach venues such as open houses. Assists with weekly information sessions for inquirants at NLEI facilities to increase awareness of NLEI’s programs and services.
11. Assures that all program contractual goals are met in an effective and efficient manner.
12. Meets with Education and Employment Staff to facilitate enrollment of programs.
13. Remains abreast of constituency needs on an ongoing basis in order to most appropriately develop outreach plans.
14. Conducts research and surveys on client intake. Collects demographic information on NLEI clients and analyzes its relationship to the organization’s objectives and marketing plans.
15. Contacts and maintains computerized records on prospective clients and agency inquiries. Engages in activities such as telemarketing, on-going presentations, etc.
16. Responsible for designing promotional items such as fliers, brochures, pamphlets, key chains, rulers, pencils, displays, etc.
17. Reports to Director on recruitment activities, goal achievement, and concerns.
18. Must be versed in accreditation criteria and standards as they pertain to recruitment, student relations, admissions, and administration. Must be versed in employment services funder requirements.
19. Works with all media to promote NLEI’s programs and services. Attends networking events as needed.
20. Present information concerning NLEI programs and services in an effective format, and distribute in a timely manner to appropriate organizations and interested candidates.
21. Prepare newspaper/television/radio public service announcements and press releases. Design agency’s media kit.
22. Prepares recruitment budget ascertaining costs associated with recruitment and marketing activities.
23. Maintain knowledge of other employment and training programs and funding.
24. Submits weekly report summarizing statistical, contractual, and qualitative goals.
25. Other duties as deemed necessary by the Director.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be bondable per Illinois State Board of Education requirements.
2. Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours.
3. Must have a vehicle and possess a valid Illinois Driver's License.
4. B.A. degree desirable, but not required or relevant experience in marketing, human resources, or education.
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
6. Computer literate. Experience with graphic design preferred.
7. Bilingual/bicultural.
8. Self-motivated and able to work independently.
