Financial Systems Analyst - Bermuda
 

Expertise Limited, Bermuda's leading recruiter, is currently seeking a Financial Systems Analyst who is interested in relocating to sunny/income-tax friendly BERMUDA.

Our Client is a property, casualty, and specialty reinsurer with offices in Bermuda, the UK, and the US. At this time, they seek a Financial Systems Analyst. The selected individual will report to the Financial Controllerand will provide management, analysis and test support for the company's accounting system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- As a “super-user” of the system, provide technical and application support to end users for the company’s financial system and related applications
- System administration and issue resolution for end users
- Develop documentation and training for end users on how to effectively use the financial system and related applications
- System and business analysis
- Manage changes to the system, understand and collate further user requirements
- Support the business in the development and production of financial and management reports, either through assisting users in the use of the reporting tools or creating and testing the required reports
- Coordination with group resources on financial systems project management as necessary from time to time
- Apply accounting and auditing principles and techniques to ensure that data integrity, internal controls, and audit trails are maintained for the system
- Ensure system controls are properly designed, documented, operating effectively, and in compliance with external and internal regulatory policies and procedures
- Perform professional accounting tasks as required

Required Skills/Experience:

- An internationally recognized accounting designation, CA, CPA or CMA .
- 3 - 5 years’ prior experience in the reinsurance industry, preferably in a similar position
- Experience with Coda accounting system and Cognos reporting tool would be an asset
- Hands on experience creating reports using system tools including the MS suite of products
- Working knowledge of data warehouse configuration and methodology
- Project management experience associated with financial systems, preferably within the insurance/reinsurance industry
- Sound knowledge and understanding of technical accounting issues
- Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to work on one’s own initiative with minimal supervision
- Progress towards an insurance related professional qualification would be an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
